With 19 years of dedicated service in public education, Ms. Monifa Morgan brings a deep commitment to student success and community connection to her role as Principal of Murwood Elementary. Her professional journey includes experience as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, vice principal, principal, and district administrator.

Ms. Morgan holds a Master’s in Education with a focus on Literacy & Language, as well as a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies—both from San Francisco State University. She also holds a multi-subject teaching credential and an administrative services credential.

At the core of Ms. Morgan’s leadership philosophy are four key beliefs:

  • Strong staff and caregiver connections strengthen school communities

Ms. Morgan is dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. She places caregiver involvement at the heart of her leadership, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages a strong home-school connection. With her wealth of experience and passion for building relationships, Ms. Morgan is committed to making Murwood a place where both students and caregivers feel supported, seen, and valued.
