Get to Know Murwood Elementary
The Murwood community is committed to providing our students with a challenging, standards-based curriculum. We have a highly experienced, collaborative staff committed to working with every child to ensure student success. Teachers differentiate within the classroom, work together with various specialists and involve families in helping students reach their full potential. Nestled in a quiet, welcoming residential neighborhood in Walnut Creek, Murwood Elementary is home to a vibrant community of 430 students. We are incredibly enriched by our diverse student body; approximately 18% of our students speak a first language other than English, bringing more than 20 different languages and a beautiful tapestry of world cultures, beliefs, and customs into our classrooms every day.
We deeply value the strong partnership between our school, families, and the broader community, which is rooted in a rich history of parent involvement. Our dedicated volunteers bring our campus to life through active site governance, strategic planning, and uplifting fundraising activities. These collaborative efforts allow us to host memorable annual traditions—such as our science fair, multicultural night, festival of lights, and track and field day—while maintaining a strong, supportive link with the district office and local regional resources to ensure every child thrives.
