PTA Reflections Arts Program
Don't forget to participate in this year's PTA Reflections Arts Program. Inspired by the theme "What My Culture Means to Me," students are invited to explore their creativity and submit their original artwork.

The Murwood Carnival is Coming!
We are so excited to bring an afternoon of fun to campus and put this special event together for our Murwood families and staff! Powered by PTA funding, the Murwood Carnival is back with the same great fall vibes—featuring carnival games, popcorn, face painting, and community connection.
- When: Sunday, October 25 | 2:00–4:00 PM
- Where: Murwood Field (Please enter through the front of the school for check-in)

Murwood Pumpkin Contest 2026
Get creative and show off your pumpkin decorating skills! Carve, paint, or decorate a pumpkin at home and bring it to school during morning drop-off on Friday, October 30.
- Categories: Most Creative, Funniest, Spookiest, Best School Spirit, and People's Choice.
- Quick Reminder: Please label the bottom of your pumpkin with your child's name and grade/class, and remember to pick it up at the end of the day.
Walk 'n Roll on Fridays!
Walk, bike, scooter, or carpool to school every Friday. Parent volunteers will scan student Key Tags at arrival, and every participant receives a charm!
This program is brought to you in partnership with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) and 511 Contra Costa. To learn more, visit Walk 'n Roll and watch this short video!

- Fill out details: Enter your contact info and describe your purchase or event.
- Murwood PTA Budget: Link the expense to your specific PTA budget category.
- Upload Receipts: Snap a clear photo and upload your digital receipt files.
- Submit your report.
Important Rules:
- 30 Days: Submit all receipts within 30 days of purchase.
- May 1: Final deadline for all submissions.

Volunteering at School:
- Classroom assistance: Help with activities, read to students, or assist with projects.
- School events: Volunteer at events like book fairs, fundraisers, or school dances.
- Library support: Help with shelving books or reading to students.
- Field trips: Accompany classes on educational outings.
Participating in School Organizations:
- Parent-Teacher Association (PTA): Attend meetings, participate in fundraising, and support school initiatives.
- School Site Council: Participate in decision-making processes. Requires a monthly time commitment for attending the council meeting.
Interested in Volunteering at Murwood? Walnut Creek School District volunteer requirements have changed. Under California's SB 868, school volunteers are now required to complete additional screening, including Mandated Reporter Training, TB risk assessments, and livescan backround checks under certain circumstances.
